01

Where it begins

Writing is often difficult because a business decision is still open.

Often, the difficulty with the writing begins with a business decision that has not quite been made. You may have several offers, a broad audience or a price you have never properly tested. When those questions remain open, every attempt to describe the business has to work too hard.

We begin with a proper conversation. I ask about the work you do and follow the answers that reveal something useful, drawing on my background in journalism and my work with specialist businesses. The strategy develops from what I learn about your business, with research to test the recommendations.

02

What you receive

01Business diagnostic
I review your intake answers and existing materials, then use the 90-minute interview and targeted follow-up questions to identify the decisions that are limiting your progress.
02Positioning and personal brand
We decide what you should be known for. That includes your distinct perspective, the experience that supports it and your method, and how those elements fit together into a coherent position. Where it helps the work, we name your framework or method.
03Target audience research and definition
I research your best-fit buyers: their needs, what prompts them to look for help and how ready they are to buy. You receive practical targeting criteria covering relevant roles, sectors and geography.
04Industry and competitor benchmarking
We look at comparable providers and the other ways buyers try to solve the problem, and how offers, positioning and prices compare. I identify the research sources and the assumptions behind the comparison.
05Defined offers
A clear core offer, with its intended transformation, delivery format, what it includes and where its boundaries lie.
06Value ladder
A connected route from useful free resources or smaller paid work into the core offer, with further options when they fit the business.
07Pricing strategy
Recommended prices informed by the appropriate category, the scope of the service and your delivery capacity, with a practical plan to test demand.
08Messaging and voice guide
Your value proposition and useful language for explaining the work, along with the distinctive arguments and recognisable writing voice that make it yours.
09LinkedIn profile repositioning
Written headline options, a complete rewrite of your About section, banner copy and visual direction, recommendations for the Featured section, proof and calls to action. I treat the profile as a small sales landing page: somewhere a prospective client can recognise their problem, assess your expertise and see a clear next step.
10Content and authority strategy
Content pillars, suitable formats and a cadence you can sustain, with a three-month topic bank that includes more developed starting outlines. We also consider comments and professional relationships as part of how the work reaches people.
11Lead generation and existing assets
Tailored recommendations for a lead magnet and the path from it into an email list or a paid conversation, including how existing books, testimonials and other work can support it. These are recommendations and briefs; the Sprint does not include building websites, software or ongoing outreach.
12A practical 90-day implementation plan
Priorities in a workable order, matched to your capacity, with the decisions to make and points at which to review progress.
13Bespoke written strategy and handover
A written strategy that explains the reasoning behind each recommendation, together with the agreed supporting profile copy. We then review the plan together, so you understand what to do first and why.

How it works

  1. 01

    Before we talk

You complete a short intake, and I review your existing profile, offers and any source material you share.

  2. 02

    The diagnostic conversation

Ninety minutes on Zoom with me. My questions respond to your answers, so the conversation follows what is useful rather than a rigid questionnaire.

  3. 03

    Developing the strategy

Research, written synthesis, targeted follow-up questions and focused working conversations across the month.

  4. 04

    Handover

The written strategy, your finished headline and About copy, and a walkthrough of the priorities.

05

Who it suits

The Sprint suits experienced consultants, specialist service providers and founders who have strong expertise and want help packaging it and explaining it to prospective buyers. You should be ready to make decisions and to implement the recommendations yourself or with your team.

It is a complete, standalone engagement. If ongoing help with writing would be useful afterwards, we can discuss it, but you are under no obligation to continue.

Practical details

How long does it take?
The initial call is 90 minutes. The engagement then includes focused strategy work and follow-up over a month.
What do I receive at the end?
A bespoke written strategy and the agreed profile copy, including your LinkedIn headline options and About section. The implementation plan covers the following 90 days.
Do I need to be starting something new?
No. Most clients have established services that need clearer definition, better packaging or a more confident price. We refine what you already do.
Can my team implement it?
Yes. The strategy is written so that you, a colleague or your team can put it into practice.
What is the banner direction?
Written copy for your LinkedIn banner and guidance on its visual approach, so a designer or a member of your team can produce it.
What is in the topic bank?
Three months of subjects drawn from your positioning and content pillars, with more developed starting outlines for some of them. It gives you a clear place to begin writing; it is not a set of finished posts.
What do the lead-magnet recommendations cover?
What a useful resource could be for your audience, how it connects to your offers and how someone moves from it into your email list or a conversation with you.
What does it cost?
£1,500 as a fixed fee for the complete engagement. I take on two new clients each month.
Who is it for?
Established independent experts, consultants and founders.
Do I need to continue working with you afterwards?
No. The Sprint is complete in itself. If ongoing help with writing would be useful later, we can talk about it, but there is no requirement to take on a retainer.
